Monarchs

 We found monarch caterpillars on some milkweed and raised them. It was a lot of fun for the girls to release them. They were so beautiful and vibrant in color when they first emerged, like stained glass!

Animals

 We had a veritable bunny explosion! Ryan doesn’t enjoy processing, and got behind and 4 does in addition to Fua got pregnant. We gave away Fua and Buck, and sold three pregnant does when they got pregnant again. There’s a reason why they call it “breeding like rabbits”. Amy and Esther got lambs from Victor Israelsen for free that the momma ewes abandoned. They’ve been loving them! We are selling them in the fall. We gave the chickens to the Islamic center (they were eating their eggs). I’m ready to back off of animals.

Hikes and Mow Mow

 We have tried to stay physically distant during this COVID pandemic, but it’s hard. Especially when we went to visit with Monta...she said she’s nearly 90 and she doesn’t want to stay back from the kids. She wanted to be able to hold John Paul. It was so nice to see her. I hope this passes soon, or that there’s a vaccine soon.

Sunday Tradition

 We have made it a tradition on Sundays to go look for our ancestors graves, or go on a family outing together. I love being able to spend time together, and I hope that the kids are forming good memories.
